i love old keys. i wonder why they can't make them pretty anymore? i would have bought a ton and made something crafty. i have no idea what but i would have tired.
There in the shop the best I could come up with was to dangle them from a chandelier, sort of like a mobile, and because that's not a very good idea I didn't buy any.
My mom made a really neat wind chime using antique keys. It actually makes very pretty sounds. Here's a howcast on key wind chimes, but you can use much prettier materials than they chose.
Currently blogging at hello961 from our new home in Beirut, Lebanon. Living @ 970 was written while we were living at number 970 near St. Louis in 2009. I started blogging back in 2005, our first time around in Beirut. Read all about it.

We also made Santa's Magical Housekeys with antique keys that were always neat to include with Christmas presents...
PS - Nice blog, Mary Ann. :)
I like the wind chime idea. Welcome, Chris. I'm happy to see that you're here.
This is the sort of thing that would have drawn me to buy them, even it I had no idea what I would do with them.
